Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which need expert advice in these trying times but cannot afford it can now turn to the inaugural Business Advisers Programme (BAP).Spring Singapore will fund up to 60 projects, paying 70 per cent of the $5,000 per month project fee in each case. The SME will pay the other 30 per cent. There will be one adviser per project. Each SME can have up to two projects. Whether the SME takes up one or two projects, the entire project duration must not exceed 12 months.

Applicants must have at least five years' relevant working experience and should be available for short-term assignments. SMEs must agree not to displace existing staff by taking on the business advisers. It is good to give others a chance to work but they must treasure the chance people had given them.
A minister has voiced concern that more Singapore couples are resorting to divorce as the first option when their marriage hits a rocky patch. Noting that the number of divorces has risen from about 5,600 in 1998 to 7,200 in 2007, Mrs Yu-Foo said: 'We need to equip couples with the correct mindset and skills to see them through the ups and downs of marriage.

'Marriage is a commitment. Its success depends on the couples' deliberate decision to work at it, and to give and take. 'The way couples communicate with each other can make or break their marriage. And this convention is about learning how to speak to your life partner in a way that is honest and loving.

Barack Obama on Thursday unveiled a US$2.4 billion (S$3.6 billion) boost for electric vehicle development, vowing to compete with foreign nations in the race to be world leader on renewable energy. Mr Obama said the money would be used to develop next generation plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and advanced battery components and would create tens of thousands of US jobs and reduce reliance on foreign oil.

He set a target of putting a million of the environmentally friendly vehicles on US roads by 2015. The plan would also give a US$7,500 tax credit to people who buy plug-in hybrid vehicles, Mr Obama said, as he toured a plant in southern California developing the new generation transport. Mr Obama is so thoughtful!

A top US Army commander says suicide is having an impact on every segment of the Army at a time when its force is 'tired and stretched' by war. Last year, the Army had 140 suicides among active-duty troops, an all-time high. It reported 24 suspected suicides in January, followed by 18 suspected last month.

In prepared testimony on Wednesday before a Senate subcommittee, Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen Peter Chiarelli says troops have been taking their own lives from all ranks. Gen Chiarelli says relationship problems appear to be factor in a majority of the suicides, but he adds that the stress of a deployment can worsen other problems in a soldier's life. For me, i agree with them.

jailed for maid abuse

A former airforce staff sergeant found guilty of abusing his Indonesian maid on several occasions was sentenced to 20 months' jail on Friday. Tong Chew Wei, 31, who is appealing against conviction, was also ordered by District Judge Hamidah Ibrahim to pay Ms Nana Widayanti, 25, $6,480. Tong, she said, had slapped, poked and hit her frequently, using a broomstick. In one incident, he scalded her on the back of her right and left knees.

Was he stupid? Or crazy? Somemore, he is a staff sergeant. He should not have abused his maid if he knows that abusing will break the law.

Jade Goody losing her sight

It is such a pity that Jade Goody a British television Star will slowly get blind. Her conditions had been deteriorated. She will get to blind soon and die. She could not see her 2 sons anymore. Before she dies, she should cherish her time LEFT in her life.

In order to cherish her time, she should not quarrel with them. She should have a good time and die peacefully. This is what i think...

Comic book sold for.. $$?

A rare superman comic book that only cost TEN-CENTS, was in an auction. It ended up to cost US$317,200 (S$528,000)!! These is so much money! Comic book... Do you need that? I think that it was a waste of money if you finish reading it and throw it aside. He should not buy it as it was too EXPENSIVE for it.

Its not good to overspent as the economy is down. If you buy something expensive, with GST, it would be better. At least, the government will have more money to contribute to the poor.

Stupid mama

A 24 years old women was suspected that she killed a baby. The woman might be the baby's mother. Did the child did something wrong to his/her mother? No, of course. It is the mother who killed her own child and hid it somewhere.

Someone found it. I hate those parents who kill childrens. They either have pig brains or have no brains. They are so stupid, SO STUPID! CHILDRENS ARE INNOCENT SO DO NOT KILL THEM WHENEVER YOU LIKE!

651000 job loss in US

Now, many people are retrenched. 651,000 jobs were lost just in February. It is very bad nowadays that just 4 months, more than 2 million jobs were lost. Many people are without homes and are too poor.

For me, i might just go and suicide. It is a punishment from the god. When these type of things happens to you, i guess, well, maybe the god wants you to go up to the heaven to see him or he had finish punishing you. I know, this will never happens...

Cancers can be passed,can't it?

Lymphoma is a cancer which lymphocytes or white blood cells multieplies very very quickly and will form lumps. It can be passed to another person through some contact. It is a deadly cancer. You do better not have it or else you will be suffering.

i hate cancers. I do not wish to have it when i am old. It will be good to have science professionals to invent more cancer machines. It may help lots of people that were caught with cancers, especially the deadly ones.

Ren ci

"Ren ci"'s monk, "ming yi" was charged and it became more serious. He was charged into high court, which has NO LIMIT to pay for fines, and once jailed, it will be long. I hate scammers like ming yi. If there is a voting, i would vote that he SUCKS.

I hate Ming Yi very much. He scammed peoples' hard earned money which they wanted to donate to the poor. I am very grateful to the rich people who actually tried to donate money to the poor despite being scared that they might be scammed or cheated. The happiness of the poor(s) are all on the richer ones now.

A wealthy couple suicided... =.="

A wealthy couple got terminal cancer which had made them end their lives. Both of them suicided at one of the hospital. It is such a waste that they had money but they suicide. Although they have cancer, but maybe they could stay on on earth until the scientists invent a machine use to cure people from cancer?

"Living on earth is a punishment from god." This is what i think. The god sent us down to earth as we are breaking the heaven's law. I do believe in god sometimes. If you believe this, you should do something to help people or even help earth.
