Government of Singapore Investment Cooperation gave billions of dollar to the Citigroup in order to save them. Singaporeans should not be nosey if they do not even have the money to save themselves. Although Singaporeans are nosey, but they are kind. They can help people by donating money to them, helping at old folks home or volunteer to help people.
In my opinion, the unfortunate ones would be very happy or delighted if kind-hearted people came to help them. They will feel that at least there are people caring for them. For the orphans, they will feel that they are not in the darkness anymore, which no one cares for them and thinks they are bad.

Well if the rich don't help the bank to survive, the bank will go bankrupt.
Singapore government thrown in alot of money into it for long term investment.
The market reacted by downgrading the bank and the value dropped even more negating the effect of throwing money into the endless pit.
My personal view is that we should like the bank run its course and find its path.
Helping it will only throw more money into the SEA.
